20 pounds of marijuana seized

A routine traffic stop on Interstate 29 last week in Andrew County ended in a major drug seizure.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Spokesman, Sergeant Jake Angle, a state trooper had stopped a southbound Ford Fusion at the 50 mile marker in Andrew County. The car was driven by 29-year-old Joseph Fartantonio of North Hollywood, California. During the stop, the Troop H canine alerted the officer about the vehicle, leading to a probable cause search. That search revealed 20 pounds of marijuana.

Fartantonio was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. He was then transferred to the Andrew County Sheriff's Department in Savannah.
