Feb. 8, 2017ST. JOSEPH, Mo. | By: Hannah
Area residents will have the opportunity to learn about CPR and First Aid emergency procedures in the coming week. The St. Joseph Health Department is offering the American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED and Heartsaver First Aid classes in recognition of Heart Month.
Connie Warner, clinic nurse with the City of St. Joseph Health Department, says the goal of the course is to potentially save lives through educating the community. Classes will be held Feb. 15 in the second floor conference room at the Health Department, located at 904 S. 10th Street. Warner says the day will be split into two portions with the morning focusing on CPR and AED training. First Aid will be taught in the afternoon. The CPR/AED portion will run from 8 a.m. to noon, and First Aid will follow from 1 to 5 p.m.
Participants are welcome to attend one or both courses. Class sizes are limited. Call 816-271-4725 to reserve a spot.
