The Missouri Department of Conservation will host a Prescribed Fire Workshop from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 9 at the Lager Building on the North Central Missouri College Barton Farm Campus in Trenton. The workshop will teach those in attendance how to plan a prescribed burn, strategies and benefits to achieve landowner goals, fire behavior, and the historical role of fire in ecology.
MDC Media Specialist Bill Graham says that, while a prescribed burn can be a useful tool, people need to know how to use prescribed fires correctly.
A light supper and necessary resource materials will be provided at the workshop. To register by Mar. 8, or for more information, call MDC Private Land Conservationist Scott Roy at 660-359-5685, extension 114.
