Northwest's Agricultural Learning Center construction plans continue

The planned Agricultural Learning Center for Northwest Missouri State University is still in the works, despite recent state budget cuts.

Northwest continues to seek out partners to support the project, as well as receive support through donations. School of Agricultural Sciences Director Rod Barr says so far about 15 percent of the facility is funded. He adds that an upcoming meeting will give the School a chance to share their vision with professionals.

The recent grant the School of Agricultural Sciences secured for middle school education efforts adds another way the program can grow. Barr emphasizes the Center is not just for Northwest, but also for the community and region.

Plans call for the $8.5 million, 29,000 square foot center to be constructed at the University's R.T Wright Farm.
