The City of Maryville is eager to begin the intial steps of this year's asphalt mill and overlay project.
At last night's city council meeting, Public Works Director C.E. Goodall presented a proposed list of roads to be renovated this summer. Nine stretches of roadway are on the docket, with four alternates. Goodall says the list includes roads from all portions of the city.
$300,000 is budgeted for the project. Nearly half of that amount stems from the city's Capital Improvement Sales Tax, which is on the April election ballot for renewal. According to Goodall, most of the roads were on the list in 2016, but were unable to be completed due to North Main Street's work costing more than expected.
Roadwork is anticipated to begin June 1 and finish by late July.
