Great Northwest Day drew 300 area participants

Great Northwest Day at the Capitol drew more than 300 area constituents together to showcase the region on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 in Jefferson City. Participants from nineteen counties and multiple communities along with representatives from healthcare, business, education and government came together to discuss issues around the region.

Executive Director of the Northwest Regional Council of Government Jackie Spainhower said that issues discussed at Great Northwest Day were refined from a variety of ideas from throughout the community.

State Senator Dan Hegeman of Cosby also attended Great Northwest Days. Hegeman says he believes economic development is important for northwest Missouri and desires to take legislative action this year.

In total, over 300 participants from northwest Missouri, 10 Senators and 90 Representatives from across Missouri, and more than 100 staffers and state office staff from over 25 departments attended Great Northwest Days.
