Five persons were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Nodaway County Saturday evening.
According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, a car driven by 36-year-old Adam C. Emery of Hopkins, Mo. and another vehicle driven by 21-year-old Michael P. Glaser of Spalding, Neb. were both southbound on Highway 71, four miles south of Burlington Jct. when both attempted to pass a slower southbound vehicle.
The two cars collided in the northbound lane and overturned. Emery received minor injuries and passengers in his car, 32-year-old Sarah H. Emery and 7-year-old Wyatt H. Emery suffered moderate injures. Glaser received moderate injures and a passenger in his vehicle, 21-year-old Haley E. Girmus of Friend, Neb. suffered moderate injuries.
The accident was investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol and the Nodaway County Sheriff's Department.
