Jan. 26, 2017MARYVILLE, Mo. | By: Yehle
One of Maryville's recent major improvement projects received state recognition this week.
The city's Fourth Street Corridor won the Great Street in Missouri award from the American Planning Association's Missouri chapter. Administrator Megan Clark says the committee selected Maryville's Fourth Street after noticing the detailed planning efforts involved. The City of Maryville and Northwest Missouri State University's team approach to completing the fourth street improvement project also factored into the award.
Tower Grove Park in St. Louis took home the Great Public Space award, and the Great Neighborhood honors went to downtown Kirkwood, a suburb of St. Louis. The A.P.A.'s Missouri chapter will recognize all award-winners at a ceremony Feb. 1 at the State Capitol Rotunda in Jefferson City.
