Northwest Missouri State shot 55-percent from the field and matched a season-low seven turnovers in a 87-53 win over Lindenwood Saturday.

The Bearcats (10-0, 2-0) led by 13 at halftime, but took it up a notch in the second half by shooting 65-percent from the field in the final 20 minutes and outscoring the Lions by 21.

Joey Witthus was an efficient 7-9 shooting, and 4-5 behind the arc, for 19 points in the win.

Sophomore forward Ryan Hawkins also posted his sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Bearcats also received 13 points from Diego Bernard, 12 from Trevor Hudgins and 10 points from Kirk Finley.

Northwest only turned the ball over seven times against Lindenwood, a mark the 'Cats have matched three times this season.

The Bearcats now hit a small break in the schedule with no games coming up until December 18 at home against Texas A&M International. Pregame for that matchup will begin at 4:40pm, followed by the opening tip at 5pm on KXVC 90.5 and KRNW 88.9.
