The Northwest Missouri State men's basketball team wrapped up its brief MIAA slate before the end of 2017 with a 79-55 rout of Central Missouri on Sunday afternoon in Warrensburg.

The Multipurpose Building is usually one of the toughest places to play in the conference, but Justin Pitts and the Bearcats weren't intimidated.

Northwest (10-0, 4-0 MIAA) shot 62.5-percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes of the game to grab a 40-22 lead at the break.

Central Missouri (7-2, 0-1 MIAA) was stymied on its home floor shooting 25-percent in the first half, including 0-9 on three-point field goals.

Pitts led the 'Cats' attack finishing with 29 points, seven assists, three steals, and he missed just two shots throughout the game.

Chris-Ebou Ndow added 12 points and six rebounds in the win, and Ryan Welty hit three three-pointers as he scored 11 points off the bench.

Northwest now receives nine days off before traveling to Owensboro, KY for a non-conference matchup with No. 4 Lincoln Memorial University on December 19. The Bearcats last meeting with the Railsplitters came in the Final Four of last year's NCAA Tournament.
