Northwest Missouri State punched its ticket to the 2018 MIAA Tournament Championship with a 65-57 win Saturday night over Central Oklahoma.

The Bearcats (26-3) held the Bronchos (20-10) to just 16 first half points, and held off a second half push to advance to the final day of the tournament.

UCO climbed back within five points of Northwest multiple times in the second half, but they could never get within one possession of the defending MIAA Tournament champs.

Justin Pitts backed up a 25-point effort Friday night with 24 points in Saturday's win over UCO. He also passed out seven assists and pulled in four rebounds.

Ryan Welty provided a spark off the bench hitting three of four three-point attempts and finishing with 11 points.

Brett Dougherty also added 13 points on 6-7 shooting, but went 1-5 at the free throw line.

Northwest will meet Washburn in the MIAA Tournament Championship Sunday at 3:30pm at Municipal Auditorium. The 'Cats have beaten the Ichabods twice this season, each by eight points.
