Northwest 61, Lincoln 60

For the first time this season, Northwest women's basketball earned back-to-back wins as they knocked off Lincoln 61-60.

The narrow victory over Lincoln comes just days after the 'Cats picked up their first conference victory of the season over Missouri Western.

The Blue Tigers took their first lead with 3:44 remaining in the game, but it lasted less than a minute as the Bearcats (3-17, 2-10 MIAA) hit four free throws down the stretch to jump back in front by three. Lincoln cut the deficit back to one on a layup with 2.3 seconds to go, but Northwest was able to run out the clock from there.

Tanya Meyer was stellar with 27 points, 13 rebounds and three steals in the win.

Kaylani Maiva scored just three points, but made her presence felt with nine rebounds and four blocked shots.

Jaelyn Haggard added 11 points and five assists.
