Northwest earned its fifth consecutive win Wednesday night as they grinded out a 55-50 victory over Emporia State.

Despite only hitting 7 of 21 shots in the first half and trailing by two at halftime, the Bearcats (20-2, 12-2 MIAA) shot 56.5-percent from the field in the final 20 minutes to pull out the five-point win.

The Hornets were limited to just one player scoring in double-digits in the loss – Stephaun Limuel finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Emporia also turned the ball over 13 times leading to 15 points for Northwest.

 The ‘Cats were led by Joey Witthus with 15 points and three rebounds in 35 minutes of work.

Chris-Ebou Ndow scored 12 points, and Justin Pitts added 10 points and six assists.
