In a letter emailed to Northwest Missouri State University staff and students, Provost Douglas Dunham explained the recent situation involving a University professor.
The letter states that earlier this week, the University was made aware of a threat of violence made on a social media site through a comment from a faculty member. The University Police Department took immediate action. The 57-year-old professor was removed from campus yesterday and is in custody at the Nodaway County Jail for an investigative hold. There is no immediate threat to the safety and security of individuals on campus and throughout the community.
