Bridge sealing will continue in Buchanan County this week.

Bridge sealing is usually done in the fall to help preserve and protect them. Customer Relations Manager, Melissa Black, compares bridge sealing to keeping a pair of shoes in good condition.

Black says the Interstate 229 double-decker bridge will be closed for deck sealing this week. Today the northbound bridge will be closed, if weather permits, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and then on Wednesday work will begin on the southbound bridge.
