Disaster Loans

Swetnam

SOUTHWEST, IA. (2012-09-27)

The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently declared several Iowa counties Southwest Iowa as natural disaster areas.

That means producers in contiguous Missouri counties could be eligible to apply aid. F-S-A Farm Loan Manager Charlotte Holeman says low-interest loans can help farmers after a national disaster.

Farmers in Atchison and Nodway counties may apply for low-interest loans if they suffered damage from high winds or hail during July 25th to July 26h. Producers in Nodaway and Worth counties may apply for loans to cover losses from this summer's drought. Holeman says farmers can get more information, including eligbility and deadlines, from their local Farm Service Agency.
