ST. JOSEPH, MO (2012-09-06)

A northwest Missouri brother and sister have pleaded guilty in a scheme to provide thousands of identity documents to illegal immigrants.

25 year old Stephen E. Vanvacter, and his 22-year-old sister, Jessica M. Gonzalez, both of St. Joseph, pleaded guilty Friday and Tuesday, respectively. The St. Joseph News-Press reports that a 3rd defendant, 22-year-old Ranfe Adaias Hernandez-Flores of Carthage, is scheduled to change his plea on Oct. 15. A total of 14 people are accused in a scheme to provide more than 3,500 Missouri driver's licenses from the St. Joseph License Office to illegal immigrants across the country. Prosecutors say they made more than $5 million between November 2009 and January 2012.
