Rural Theaters

Wayman

SAVANNAH, MO (2011-09-21)

A program this Saturday in Savannah ties in our rural movie theaters with America's golden age of cinema.

The lecture will be at the Andrew County Museum, where director Glenn Uminosicz will highlight why the blockbusters like "Wizard of Oz" and "Gone with the Wind" needed audiences in rural Missouri to make it big.

Saturday's program, called "The First Picture Shows" is this Saturday at 2 O'clock at the Museum on East Duncan in Savannah with free admission as part of Smithonian Magazine's Annual Museum Day.
