MARYVILLE, MO (2011-09-27)

The Maryville City Council approves an agreement with the Missouri Department of Corrections to use state prisoners for labor around the city.

The work-release program has been going on for several years last night's contract is a continuation of the agreement. Maryville city manager Matt Lacurf says prisoners do mowing, maintenance at the cemetery, and other supervised jobs which helps everyone.

Also last night the Maryville City Council re-appointed Dan Billings, Alan Langley and Dale Mathes to the Mozingo Advisory Board for three year terms.
