MARYVILLE, MO (2011-09-28)
FEMA wants to warn of approaching flood insurance deadlines for residents who were effected by this summer's flooding.
For some policy holders their deadline could be as early as tomorrow. According to the National Flood Insurance program policy, holders whose properties were damaged by flooding have 120 days to file a claim from the date the damaged occurred. The normal "Proof of Loss" deadline is normally only 60 days but was extended to 120 days for the Missouri River Floods. For more help opening a claim or more information contact your local insurance agency or the national flood insurance program's call center at 1-800-427-4661.
