HOLT COUNTY, MO (2011-09-19)
Regional residents impacted by Missouri River Flooding and wondering "What do we do next?" should get that answered this week in Holt and Atchison counties.
Two extension agency workshops are being held, covering topics ranging from how to sanitize a flooded home to mold removal to evaluating the home's structure, wells, and septic systems. Those attending the workshops can also hear from a horticulturalist on returning lawns, landscaping, trees, and shrubs to their pre-flooded conditions. A representative from FEMA will also be on hand to answer questions about loans and funding for property owners. The first workshop will be this Wednesday evening at the TJ Hall Building in Oregon Missouri. That runs from 6:30 to about 9 O'clock. The second workshop is this Thursday night, again running from 6:30 to 9 at the Velma Houts Fair Building in Rock Port.
