ST. JOSEPH, MO (2011-09-30)
A major employer in St. Joseph is back open starting today after being closed for months because of Missouri River Flooding.
The St. Jo Frontier Casino had to close down in June because of the nearby river flooding the casino's parking lot and structure. It employs about 300 workers, who helped remove much of the gaming machines and furniture from the building in preparation for the flooding. Water reached the restaurant and gift shop, those have been repaired the last few weeks. Casino management estimated about $40,000 in business each day were lost during the shut down.
