GREEN HILLS, MO (Johns Lawsuit) The former head of Green Hills regional planning commission served a federal prison sentence on federal fraud and corruption charges.
Now, Michael Johns has filed a lawsuit against several Chillicothe leaders. Johns was indicted by the federal grand jury on charges related to using unauthorized loans and left Green Hills in 2002. Now, He's filed two lawsuits. The first names the Chillicothe mayor and 4 current and former employees of the regional planning commission and alleges the sale of a rail spur cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars. The second is a civil suit claiming John's arrest, conviction, and fine of nearly half a million dollars has deprived him of employment, income, and personal happiness. Johns lawsuit has been filed in the Grundy County courts. A hearing date has not yet been set.
