Global Scholarship

Wayman

MARYVILLE, MO (2010-09-03) The global connections between other countries and Maryville continues to strengthen.

An alumnus of the university has formed a scholarship specifically targeting education majors at Northwest Missouri State who are planning to be student teachers in another country. Cherine Heckman is currently vice president of student affairs at a college in the United Arab Emirates. She's a 1977 graduate of Northwest and former employee. The new scholarship will go to students focused on early childhood education, elementary education, middle school, or secondary education majors.
