ST. JOSEPH, MO (2010-09-30) Organizers of the first "Bluegrass Battles Hunger" are declaring the event a success.

Conceived as a fundraiser for the second harvest food bank in St. Joseph, the Bluegrass concert Saturday featured a variety of bands and took in about 360 pounds of food for second harvest. Organizer Chad Higdon says they hope to make it an annual concert. About 400 people turned out for the "Bluegrass Battles Hunger" concert.
