ALBANY, MO (2010-09-20) For the second year in a row, the city of Albany, Missouri is the running for a Missouri community betterment award.
Two judges visited the Northwest Missouri community last week. Director of economic development in Albany, Kat Morgan says the judges were looking at five projects the town worked on to qualify for the award. Morgan says the five projects Albany submitted were the Albany helping hands program, the old city cemetary, the Recycling/Collection Center, the Albany Revitalization Project and the wastewater improvements. She adds the visit by the judges seemed to go well. Morgan says this year's winners will be announced at the Missouri Community Betterment Conference held in Jefferson City the middle of next month.
