MARYVILLE, MO (2009-09-14) Maryville's house representative says the budget could be the biggest topic when lawmakers get back to Jefferson City on Wednesday.
That's the constitutionally mandated veto session, but representative Mike Thomson says there's very little pressing lawmakers to try to override any governor's veto. Thomson says when the session starts again in January, topic number one will probably be revenue shortfalls. Thomson says the Republican-led State House does not want to slash and cut programs, but when the money isn't there the alternatives dwindle.
