SAVANNAH, MO (2009-09-22) The Savannah City Council is working with the school district over a homecoming hurdle.
The Parade is this Friday afternoon, but the plan to have the Savannah football players ride on the fire trucks has had cold water thrown on it because of insurance concerns. The city's insurance does not recommend non-firefighters riding on the trucks, making the city potentially liable if an injury happens. The city's insurance agent is working with the school's agent about a special rider to cover riders. If that's possible the school district is willing to add the rider to their policy for the parade.
