Pitts Sentence

Wayman

MARYVILLE, MO (2009-09-15) A Maryville man is spared sentencing on a previous weapons charge because charges still haven't come down on his alleged involvement in a recent standoff with law officers.

Bryan Pitts was in court yesterday afternoon to be sentenced after he plead guilty on a weapons related charge. But Pitt is also the suspect in a gun related standoff that closed down highway 136 near Maryville two Sundays ago. In court, judge Roger Prokers said charges in the standoff case could effect sentencing in the previous weapons case but none of the court officials including prosecuting attorney had seen enough reports from law agencies on what happened during the standoff, and no charges have been filed in that case. Pitt's took the judge's offer to postpone sentencing on the weapons charge until more was known about the standoff he was reportedly involved in. He's now set for sentencing the last Monday of this month.
