MARYVILLE, MO (2009-09-30) A Maryville man is sentenced on a domestic assault charge then charged with another felony on his alleged involvemnet in a new case.
Bryan Pitts was put on 5 years supervised probation for felony use of a weapon and domestic assault after using a metal pipe to try and injure a woman. But Pitts is also the suspect in a stand off in early September where multiple law agencies had to close down highway 136 near Maryville for hours as they negotiated with him. He's alleged to have pointed a rifle at a sheriff's deputy and highway patrolman during the Standolff, which brings a charge of felony assault of a law enforcement officer in the second degree. He's now back in the local jail on that charge awaiting his next court appearance.
