MARYVILLE, MO (2009-09-18) Family Weekend kicks off today at Northwest Missouri State University with a banquet honoring distinguished members of the Northwest Family.

This evening's events will begin with a social at 6 O'clock in the J.W. Jones Student Union Ballroom followed by dinner at 6:45 and the Alumni Awards Presentation at 8. Director of Alumni Relations at Northwest Missouri State Steve Sutton says the banquet is designed to recognize those who have truly made a difference in the Northwest community. Those being recognized at tonight's banquest include Mary Hamilton Purdy, Dr. Elise Gutshall, Dr. Mark Corson, Dave Snider, and Dr. Frances Shipley.
