The Northwest Missouri State golf team finished in second place at the 2013 Bearcat Fall Classic held at Mozingo Lake Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.
The two-day tournament was the team's lone home tournament of the season. Northwest(643) finished just eight shots behind champion Bellevue (635). The Bearcats were led individually by reigning MIAA Golfer of the Week Cassie Lowell, who tied for third place overall after shooting rounds of 79 and 78, respectively. Kristina D'Angela placed seventh and Taylor Gard was ninth. Ashley Powers tied for 13th and Brooke Byland finished in a tie for 24th. In all, there were 59 individuals and nine teams that competed over the two days. Following the Bearcats in the rankings were Missouri Western (658), Rockhurst (659), William Jewell (661), Iowa Western CC (692), Dodge City CC (707), Park University (734) and Southwest Baptist (761). Playing as individuals for Northwest were Hannah sears (t-24th), Taylor GArdner (t-28th) and Kaydrie Bergner (31st). Northwest will conclude the fall schedule with the MIAA Preview Tournament which will be played on Oct. 21-22 at Whitmoor Country Club in St. Charles, Mo. Lindenwood University is serving as the host this year.
