The theme of Fire Prevention Month this year helps remind families to plan their escape in the event of a fire.

The theme, "Two Ways Out", emphasizes the importance of knowing ahead of time the two ways out of a building during a fire. Maryville Public Safety Fire Division Supervisor, Lieutenant,Phil Rickabaugh says key factors of fire prevention include looking for hazards in your home and making sure smoke detectors are working.

Rickabaugh encourages everyone to change the batteries of smoke detectors when changing clocks for Daylight Savings.
