Cookies For Kids

Campbell

MARYVILLE, MO (2012-10-10)

A class assignment has led one group of Northwest Missouri State University students to sell cookies for an orphanage in Guatemala.

The assignment was to raise funds and awareness for a cause the students feel strongly about. A group including student Emily Snodgrass, chose an orphanage for battered and abandoned children located in Santa Cruz, Guatemala. Snodgrass says they are hoping to support the orphanage that does so much for the children.

Snodgrass says the orphanage was founded Saint Joseph native, Shane Sanderson. The group will be selling cookies, and all proceeds will be going to support the funding for the orphanage, which includes food, clothing, and education for the children. The cookies, as well as hot chocolate, will be sold at the Homecoming Parade, November 3, starting at 9am.
