One of our counties drops its burn ban as another starts one.

Livingston county commissioners and the city of Chillicothe posted a burn ban for residents because of the dry conditions, but that ban has now been lifted. Meanwhile, Atchison county Kansas commissioners have instituted a burn ban effective immediately. County emergency management director Lori Chew explains the reasoning behind the ban.

The burn ban in Atchison county Kansas will remain in effect until further notice.
