Jazz lovers of Kansas City style swing have a treat in store tonight.

A concert in Maryville between the university's Jazz Ensemble and Studio Jazz Ensemble will eprform Benny Carter's 10-movement "Kansas City Suite". Carter's composition pay tribute to various Kansas City Jazz Clubs of the 1930's, combining solos with swinging music. Director of tonight's concert says the university groups have captured the spirit of the music. It starts at 8 tonight at the Charles Johnson Theater on the northwest campus.
