Bedford City Council approves the upgrade to the waste water disinfection system.

The Department of Natural Resources is requiring Bedford to disinfect even more its waters before dumping it into the 102 River. Kenny Spencer is Bedford's Public's Works director he says DNR requirements are forcing the city to upgrade their disinfection system before the town's wastewater is dumped into the 102 River, which has been re-classified as fishable and swimmable.

Disinfection equpment is expected to arrive the first part of this next week and the whole project is to be completed by the end of December.
