MARYVILLE, MO (2011-10-03)
Maryville has lost its thrift store, but an enterprising resident is ready to change that.
Alice Wong is collecting items right now and ordering shelves to re-open Maryville's downtown thrift store. She worked at the now-closed store for more than 5 years. She plans on calling it "Treasure Island Thrift Shop", and says her customers encouraged her to re-open a new store after hearing the other one was closing.
Alice is also donating profits to the new Nodaway Humane Society and the county sheriff's K-9 unit and plans on donating to other charities in the future. She hopes to open the shop around the end of this month.© Copyright, KXCV
