MARYVILLE, MO (2011-10-14)
More than 7 million dollars are on their way to a north Missouri electric Co-Op for upgrades to the system.
Tri-County Electric Cooperative Association serves residents in the north east and north central part of the state-including Putnam and Sullivan counties. The non-profit is getting 7.1 million dollars to build 41 miles of new distribution line, as well as make improvements to 39 miles of existing electric lines. The money comes from the federal government and is specifically earmarked for rural electric co-ops to improve distribution and grid technology.
