ST. JOSEPH, MO (2010-10-20) Missouri governor Nixon is pointing to a 15 million dollar construction project in St. Joseph as an example of helping the state economy and saving taxpayers money.
The governor stopped at Missouri Western where a new student residence hall is being built. Nixon praised the project for employing 200 workers as the three story complex starts to be built. He also points to the use of 5.7 million dollars in recovery zone economic development bonds the school is using that's saving about $780,000 in interest. Missouri Western's new residence hall is scheduled to be finished in August.
