Superintendent Resigns

CHILLICOTHE, MO (2010-10-22) The superintendent of Chillicothe's R-2 School District is resigning.

Dr. Linda Gray Smith told the board of her decision in closed session earlier this week. She notes state test scores at the district are AR record highs and the schools are performing high marks with state performance reports. She also credits the board for developing a solid financial plan. She says now is a good time to step aside and let a new leader take the district to the next level. Gray Smith has been superintendent for the past 2 years. Her resignation is effective next Spring aht the end of this current school year.
