Savannah Budget

Wayman

SAVANNAH, MO (2010-10-04) The Savannah City Council approves the budget for next fiscal year.

Capital requests received one of the largest concerns, and the council denied the city cemetery 2 administrative computers because of negative fund balances for the cemetery. They also held off a year on purchasing new handguns for the Savannah Police Department. Council also decided to approve a $60,000 transfer from water to the general fund. That convered the more than $26,000 deficit in the general fund as well as the $32,000 shortfall for the cemetery. The preliminary budget for fiscal year 2011 shows revenues in Savannah outpacing expenses by nearly $60,000. The budget was unanimously approved.
