ROCK PORT, MO (2010-10-13) The aldermen in Rock Port continue pursuing a variety of grants to help with city expenses.
At their last board meeting members heard from an engineering company from Maryville that's putting together a cost estimate for applying for a MoDOT Transportation Enhancement Grant. Rock Port Police chief Curtis Elam is also applying for a matching grant to purchase safety equipment for the department. That would fund 90% of the cost with Rock Port matching 10%. And city clerk Ashtin Paris is working on an application for the Missouri Main Street program which would fund 60% of improvements for Rock Port's downtown revitalization efforts.
