MARYVILLE, MO (2010-10-01) The hospital in Maryville is unveiling a new program that customizes treatment for victims of breast cancer.
St. Francis Hospital calls it a navigation service. It incorporates treatment options at the patient's pace as well in depth educational components. Terri Harr is the patient Liaison for the new program and says aside from the doctor, with her designated cell phone she also acts as the hospital's main contact for someone battling the disease. By December, nearly 4,000 Missourians are expected to die of breast cancer this year.
