Mizener

CHILLICOTHE, MO (2010-10-04) This week is fire prevention week across america.

The National Fire Protection Association and Fire Departments across the country are promoting this year's campaign "Smoke Alarms: A Sound You Can Live With." Chillicothe's assistant fire chief Eric Reeter Stresses the importance of having working home smoke alarms. Each year nearly 3,000 people die in house fires. About 2/3 of those homes will not have a working smoke alarm. The National Fire Protection Association estimates smoke alarms reduce the risk of dying in a fire by about 50%.
