MARYVILLE, MO (2010-10-12) The 2010 Encore Performing Arts Series in Maryville kicks off the season tonight with a group 43 years in the making and 8,000 miles in between.

The Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Company presents a program of cultural tradition in dance and music. The colorful performance is aimed at promoting cultural understanding. Other offerings as the encore season gets undersay include a Celtic and Bluegrass performing family, the Wizard of Oz, A New Orleans Jazz Brass Band and the classic american play the Bus Stop. Tonight's dance performance starts at 7:30 at the Houston Center for the Performing Arts, with tickets available at the door.
