MARYVILLE, MO (2010-10-08) Three North Missouri animal breeding operations are at the center of a debate raging that will be decided next month in the November election.
Proposition "B" is a ballot measure that seeks to create new restrictions on Missouri dog breeders as well as create a misdemeanor charge for violations. The group backing the proposition has released a list of 12 Missouri breeders they say have questionable practices. The top three in that report are S and S Family Puppies in Milan, B and B Kennel in Galt, and Windsong Kennel in Pattonsburg. Wayne Pacelle is the president of the Humane Society of the US supporting the ballot issue. But Karen Strange, a spokeswoman for the Missouri Federation of Animal Owners, is critical of the proponent's report, and the proposition. The issue will be decided by Missouri voters November second.
