Dine Out Missouri

Wayman

ST. JOSEPH, MO (2010-10-04) Can eating out save your community in a recession?

Three restaurants in our area think it can only help. They are participating in the "Dine Out Missouri" campaign all this month. Diners who spend at least $200 total at restaurants participating in the state program get a gift certificate from the state for $25 to spend at the restaurants. State officials say for every dollar spent by diners that generates a dollar 23 cents in sales for the state's economy. Karen Evans is the manager at the Fredrick Inn Steakhouse in St. Joseph who's participating and says the campaign is a win-win. The 54th street Grill in St. Joseph is also participating, as well as Chillicothe's country kitchen.
