MARYVILLE, MO (2010-10-08) There is now a rare plaque attached to the administration building at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.
It declares the building a member of the national register of historic places. It was unveiled as the community celebrated the building's 100th anniversary yesterday morning. Jason Williamson is a history graduate at Northwest and spent 6 years researching the building and started the process to get it on the national register. He says it's much more than a building It's a cultural icon. Dignitaries at the celebration called the structure an important centering point for the University, Maryville, and the region.
