DeKALB COUNTY, MO. (2009-10-28) Missouri's largest wind farm being built in DeKalb County is now 100% financed.
The Wind Capital Group has been building the Lost Greek Wind Project in DeKalb County since July, but has just announced it's closed on the financing. Wind Capital says a group of 4 international banks are providing 240 million dollars for the 300 million dollar project. Also going into the costs is a 90 million dollar grant through the federal stimulus package. Wind Capital has already constructed 3 wind farms in Northwest Missouri each averagin about 25 wind turbines. The DeKalb County farm will have 100 turbines producing enough electricity to power 50,000 homes. Construction is expected to be completed late spring.
